Banded Crickets (Gryllodes sigillatus)

Description

These are the go-to feeder insect for pet reptiles. They contain lots of protein, and less fat than some feeders, plus their lively way of moving around makes them irresistible to insect-eaters. We raise and sell banded crickets, which is a tropical species that is much hardier and longer-lived than the traditional house cricket. The reputation that crickets have for being delicate and prone to die-off, comes from the old-fashioned house cricket. Banded crickets can be kept at a warm room temperature, and fed a variety of veggies like carrots, kale, dandelion greens, and alfalfa shoots and leaves. This will also provide all the moisture they need. Always lightly dust crickets with a calcium supplement before offering them to your pets.
